Alessandro Martini, an enlightened entrepreneur with a global vision, and Luigi Rossi, the creative mind whose botanical fragrances tickled the noses of passers-by on Via Dora Grossa in Turin… It was 1863 when their freshly baptized partnership materialized in their first vermouth: MARTINI® Rosso. The recipe for this original blend is as relevant today as it was then. Our artisans today are the eighth generation of MARTINI® Master Blenders. Each of them follows in the footsteps of their predecessors. Beppe Musso, our Master Blender, and Ivano Tonutti, Master Herbalist, carry on Luigi Rossi’s legacy. Beppe, in the Martini family since 1994, carefully selects the wines and guides the blending processes for each product, together with Ivano who tests more than 500 samples of aromatic herbs each year to guarantee the unique quality of Martini products. Both are the only ones who know the secret recipes, which they jealously guard under lock and key. Livio Prandi works with more than 300 winemakers in the Asti area, continuing Martini’s devotion to the region’s artisans. The result is a selection of sparkling wines that translate tradition and modernity into a true celebration of the Moscato Bianco grape. The original MARTINI® recipe is kept strictly under lock and key. Our Master Blenders know it only through taste and aroma. More than 500 samples of aromatic herbs pass through Ivano’s nose every year, and only his experience, along with Beppe’s, can guarantee continuity with Luigi Rossi’s work. The hills of Asti in Piedmont are where sparkling wines first appeared in 1850. And it is here, in Santo Stefano Belbo, that our winery is located, where approximately 300 winemakers, many of whom have been working with us for generations, help us harvest the “gold of the hills”: Moscato Bianco. Since 1864, the Pessione countryside in Piedmont has been home to us. The Turin-Genoa railway line runs right next to it and has played a key role in our expansion ambitions. Entire generations of families have helped build what MARTINI® is today. The locals are proud of it and the intense sweetness of its aroma pervades the surrounding air.
