12° of devilish pleasure
Founded in Douai in 1919, this brewery remains a traditional, family-run, independent business today. In the Brasserie de Gayant the beer is prepared with the same care and dedication as an excellent wine, preferring quality over quantity and favoring traditional methods over industrial production. The brewery today produces 180,000 hectoliters per year in kegs, bottles and cans. Les Brasseurs de Gayant are true pioneers, as they positioned themselves commercially from the beginning in the specialty sector, which represents just 27% of the total beer market. The brewery, which currently has over 120 employees, is headed by Patrick D'Aubreby who has held the reins of the company since 1987, continuing the tradition of his father, who has been owner since 1955. Patrick, son of brewers and grandson of generations of maltsters, is highly specialized and with the help of master brewer Alain Dessy has invented all the beers in the range. Thanks to their mastery of the development processes, high quality ingredients and their always lively curiosity, the de Gayant master brewers have created unique specialties of their kind, in terms of typology and taste.
