An abbey-style dubbel from the Sint Bernardus brewery, named after the monks of Mont des Cats who were forced to cross the border from France to Belgium in the early 20th century and who produced abbey cheese at the Refuge Notre Dame de St.Bernard in Watou until 1934. The dairy continued, however, and in 1959 added brewing to its operations thanks to a license from the Trappist monks of Westvleteren that lasted until 1992. Pater 6 is one of the original recipes of this tradition.
