It was 1913 when Giacinto Callipo gave life to our company, in Pizzo (VV), a splendid Calabrian town known since ancient times for tuna fishing and traps. Callipo, the first in Calabria and one of the first in Italy to can box the prized Mediterranean Tuna, makes Quality First, since its foundation, its main mission, so much so that already in 1926 it was awarded the Patent of "Official Supplier" of the Royal House . 108 years have passed since then and they have never failed in that principle, a "way of being" that continues to represent a pivotal point around which the whole business revolves, aware that it is the secret of success. On 14 January 2013 the company celebrated a historic birthday by completing its first 100 years of activity. Several initiatives and awards were obtained on the occasion of this important anniversary. First of all, the special stamp cancellation granted by the Italian Post Office. The President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano also wanted to "participate" in the celebrations and dedicated his own commemorative plaque to the celebration of the historic anniversary. The commemorative plaque and the accompanying letter with which the Head of State expresses deep appreciation for the constant commitment made by our company is aimed at handing down and renewing the experience of a precious entrepreneurial tradition, were delivered to the Administrator Pippo Callipo . In 2019 the company was included in the Unioncamere Register of Italian Historical Enterprises, as a public recognition and award for having continuously exercised the activity for over 100 years in the same product sector and for having transmitted over time to subsequent generations a rich heritage of experiences and important entrepreneurial values.
