The company "Spina Antonio - Artisan Production in Oil and Pickles" was founded in 1966, boasting fifty years of presence, experience and innovation in the Apulian territory. Antonio Spina (known as Tonino), progenitor of the Spina family, moved to Turin in 1961 to work and make a fortune, joining a porcini mushroom processing company. The flair and creativity lead him to imagine and dream of a similar company, specialized however in the preservation of the products of the territory of his native land, the beloved Puglia. Thanks to self-denial, continuous work and multiple sacrifices, in 1966 Tonino realized his dream: to transform and preserve the products of "his" territory such as aubergines, peppers, dried tomatoes, lampascioni and artichokes, the real pearls of Salento. . Ten years later, proud of the positive feedback from the market, he inaugurates an artisan transformation workshop of 3000 square meters on the road to Manduria in Oria. Large spaces, skilled labor, the very important contribution of Mrs. Rosaria, Tonino's wife, the entry into the world of work of the sons Damiano, Giampiero and Luigi allow the Spina Artisan Company to make a notable leap in quality and establish itself not only locally, but also internationally in the high quality gastronomy sector.
