The most famous and desired spreadable cream in the world has its roots in Alba back in 1942. Pietro Ferrero decided to open an artisan pastry shop and, despite not having many ingredients at his disposal due to the war, he decided to exploit the main resource that the surrounding area made available to him: hazelnuts. Ferrero thus created the “Giandujot” a gianduia chocolate block to be cut and passed on bread and given the great response on the market, he decided to try to melt it and turn it into a spread. Thus was born in 1949 the "Supercrema" whose name will change to Nutella only in 1964.
