Julius Maggi was born in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, on October 9, 1846, the fifth of six children. At the age of 23, he takes over his father's mill and lays the foundation stone for the creation of a company that will go global. In 1882 Julius Maggi, a young visionary, came up with an idea destined to revolutionize the world: exceptionally committed to the well-being of people, he uses legumes (rich in proteins) to provide workers with nutrient-rich and inexpensive food. In 1884 he launched the first nutritious legume flour on the market and continued to develop new ideas. After a few years and after a lot of research, Maggi creates the first ready-to-cook soup based on peas and beans. Enthusiastic about the enormous success of his first creation, he also invents the liquid seasoning, to give an extra touch to dishes. This makes Maggi famous all over the world. The iconic shape of the Maggi Aroma Liquid Seasoning and its yellow-red color have remained the same to this day. In 1997 Maggi was celebrated the centenary of Maggi in Germany in the largest culinary studio in the world. Today, after more than 100 years, 4,600 dishes are prepared every second with Maggi products all over the world.
