Mirato was founded in the 1960s, in the midst of the economic boom, a time characterized by a strong growth in demand for new products for personal care and hygiene. Corrado Ravanelli, the current Honorary President of the Company, began producing and marketing an innovative product for the Italian market: Splend'Or hairspray, which was an immediate success among consumers, effectively becoming the first step in the Company's development. The 1980s marked a fundamental stage in Mirato's growth: the Company launched Malizia, a complete line of practical, fresh personal deodorants in a variety of fragrances, aimed at a young, female target. The launch was accompanied by an advertising campaign that featured the very popular jingle "Malizia profumo d'intesa" for the first time. The success was extraordinary, linked to the identification of a specific target and a new line of "self-care" products destined to quickly establish themselves as innovative products, yet practical and accessible to all. Continuing with its strategy of continuous innovation and segmentation of its offering, in the 1990s Mirato introduced a new product line and a new "umbrella" brand to the market, which soon became, like Malizia, extremely popular: Intesa. In this case too, the launch was intended to cover a new market segment with strong potential: Intesa Pour Homme was in fact the first complete line of face/body treatment products specifically intended for the vast male public, and in particular for the dynamic, sporty man who pays attention to his body care. In 1997 Mirato launched Intesa Sex-Unisex, a line of personal deodorants with highly innovative characteristics, aimed at both men and women. Finally, in 1998, Mirato further integrated the range with two new lines of personal hygiene products: Bon Bons Malizia, the first eau de toilette specifically aimed at the new target of very young women, a market segment previously not covered by the offering, and Malizia Unisex, a personal deodorant for men and women that completed the Malizia line.
